Delores B. Lindsey
Delores B. Lindsey, Ph.D. guides educational leaders to examine their organizations’ policies and practices, and their individual beliefs and values about cross-cultural communication. Her message to her audiences focuses on culturally proficient leadership practices. Delores invites educators to develop their own inquiry and action research. Her favorite reflective question is: Are we who we say we are? She is also a Training Associate for Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Schools.
Delores and husband Randall, her favorite Sage/Corwin author, continue to co-write about the application of the four Tools of Cultural Proficiency. She has been co-author of five Corwin Cultural Proficiency books. She adds to that list Culturally Proficient Professional Development: Ensuring equity through the Common Core (in press).
Most recently Delores retired as a professor of educational leadership and has served as a middle grades principal and county office administrator. She started her career as a high school and middle grades English teacher.

Workshop
- Cultural Proficiency: These sessions introduce the Tools of Cultural Proficiency as a shared commitment to excellence and equity for all students. The consultants engage participants using strategies and tools needed for districts to embed Cultural Proficiency into schools’ academic cultures. Upon completion of the sessions, participants will understand and know how to apply the 4 Tools: the Guiding Principles, Essential Elements, Continuum, and Barriers related to Cultural Proficiency. Participants in these interactive sessions will explore the best ways to weave these tools into the fabric of their schools.
