Rufus Thompson is a retired K-12 educator, coach, adjunct professor, and Technology Coordinator. He worked and served for 30 years in California public schools, at four California universities as an Adjunct Professor educating teacher candidates and teachers, and as a Technology and Best Practices Consultant. During his tenure in the Mountain View School District, he ushered in technology in the classroom and school programs in a way that was unequaled for many years.

Rufus has presented at the National School Boards Association, California League of Middle Schools, California Educational Technology Professionals Association, and National Middle School Association conferences.  He has also presented at California State University at San Bernardino, California Polytechnic University, and California State University at Los Angeles.  His goal is to empower students, teachers, and administrators to use technology to enhance their instruction and daily life. Rufus is married to the nationally recognized expert on educating students of color, Dr. Gail L. Thompson. They have three children: Dr. Nafissa Thompson-Spires; NaChe Thompson, a high school English teacher; and Stephen Thompson, a Mechanical Engineering student attending Cal Poly Pomona. They also have one grandson, Iveren. The Thompsons reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
