This is a highly readable book with a very personal slant which makes it appealing and engaging. The author explores how he ensures that, in his Early Years setting, continuous provision enables children. He shares his Early Years pedagogy through the '3Ms' and explains how to apply these in the classroom. Greg also explores the definition of play – what it is and what it isn’t – and the challenging role of the Early Years teacher.
This is useful and interesting reading for students wishing to undertake play-related projects in their school. This is particularly useful for any practitioner within Early Years settings wishing to develop aspects of play within their own contexts.
informative and up to date , with different pedagogical viewpoint to other reources
Early to read - excellent book.
Selected this text for our newly verified Play in the 21st Century Module and it has proved very useful with lots of pointers and ideas for the students to reflect on.
This book is a very good resource for all early years settings and any student studying early years. It is clearly presented and very strongly promotes the idea that play is about the child, and not what the adult thinks the child wants! Highly recommend.
